Max Roam the Sim that doesn’t know it’s travelling.
MAXroam is a service of Cubic Telecom Limited. With MAXroam our ambition is to create a service with which you can pick up your mobile anywhere in the world and call anyone in the world for as long as you like and not worry about the price.
Review:
The main advantage of a MAX roam sim is: You get a real landline number, not just a Jersey, Manx, Lithuanian or Estonian number but a real landline number from the UK, France or other destinations you may wish to choose.
You can add as many as you like, for £1.00 per month.
The sim arrived within a day of us ordering it, it came with a nice little pouch for storage of the sim and had a nice cards with all the instruction in the pack.
Opened it activated it as per the pack instructions and 5 minutes later we made teh first call.
Instant call back and the connection was faster than normal.
The only problem I had with the SIM was the texting, that appeared to be a little strange as people couldn't text the landline number I was given and when I sent a text to another number a +972 Isreali based mobile number. So your contacts who texts you have to send texts using the Isreali number on your Maxroam sim.
Otherwise the call quality was good, the call back wasn't difficult and worked all most of the handsets we tried it on.
For the long term traveller and the person who wants more than just a disposable single use sim, after realising people won't call his/her Estonian number, but who wants a steady reliable service we recommend MAXroam. It's not for the one off holiday shopper MAXroam is a sim card you keep.

MaxRoam Reviews
MaxRoam Customer Service is available both via email and telephone and is helpful and answer your questions, they also have an online balance on their max roam website you can keep an eye on calls and they are transparent in their pricing.

Quality of Calls:
It’s call back but it’s fast, receiving calls is surprisingly easy and the quality is as crisp as a landline call.

Call Connection:
it connects without any problems and all our calls were connected within seconds.

Text Messaging:
It’s very easy to send text messages, although you get an Isreali number that your contacts have to reply to.

Data Roaming
Data roaming is not supported

Ease of Use:
We put in the MaxRoam Sim card in our phones after having activated it online as described on the welcome pack and within minutes it was working and we had no problems using the card in the following phones Nokia N70, Sony Ericsson W850i, Nokia 6300, Nokia e51 and a HTC Touch Cruise.

Value for money:
MaxRoam is value for money, however it has to be understood that the sim card is different from most of the other roaming sims, they have inbound calling charges, but they are for local calls, and having local numbers in other countries termination on your phone for £1.00 a year is value for money.

MaxRoam Features:
• When you first sign up you can choose a phone number for your SIM in the USA, France, UK, Poland, Italy, Sweden or Ireland free of charge. You can add as many as 50 numbers (additional numbers start from EUR2 per month) to your SIM.
• If you are from the US MAXroam can give you free call forwarding to most numbers worldwide.
• Full online voicemail. If MAXroam customers miss a call, MAXroam sends a text message informing the customer the number that called and if the caller left a voicemail.
• You can check your balance and top up on the web, or directly from your mobile phone using top up cards (available soon).
• From the MAXroam SIM menu you can manage your account.

  • We tried 2 cards late last year with sporadic results (calls would not always come in or go out even if we switched local carriers). When we asked for support, we were told new cards were going to have to be mailed since sims were malfunctioning. We new they were changing carriers so telling us the sim cards were "bad" when we new others were having problems was a direct lie. New service was also not reliable, so we gave up trying to use this card. Requests for support and credit went unanswered, other than saying they were working on the system.

  • To follow on from the comment below, my sim came with a Belgian mobile number. Have you any idea how much it costs to call and text a Belgian mobile number from the UK? A complete waste of time.

  • An absolute rubbish company. Ordered in early March 09, took 2 weeks to arrive when needed urgently, did not credit the 50 euro I paid and told me I would have to top up to use the sim, and now in June, 3 months on, I am still awaiting a UK number to be attached to the sim which should have come with the sim originally. This company is a total waste of time and although I ashed for a refund they have just fobbed me off. So they have stolen my 50 euros too! Avoid like a plague!!!

  • This has got to be the worst phone company on the planet. They provide the worst service ever and deprive you of the phone numbers you already have without any warnings. They are not cheap and I estimate they will be going bust pretty soon. They changed my sim card twice without any warning. Dealing with them just causes a big headache. What you see on their website is not what you get. Beware!

  • Maxroam has some major issues right now. Their prices are no longer attractive. And thair main selling point, which is the availability of DIDs, is not working either. So, they are less attractive than the other prepaid sim out there. I would definitely NOT recommend this sim card.

  • just been on Maxroam site and call costs are very expensive will not be using a roaming sim again better off using my home network and using a little known loophole to get free incoming calls

  • I recently used a MaxRoam SIM when travelling Spain. It was easy to use and the call costs are very good. One of the features i liked is that i had a local landline number that i gave to family and friends to call.

  • Max Roam is a clever little thing, i have a French landline number now and i use it for my business contacts to call me when im still in the UK.
